As indicated in the panel, this is an easy route with a number of highlights, one of them being the excitement of visiting Oman without the hassle of passports and visas. Buraimi is a fascinating, historical oasis town that – with its souk (market), forts and oasis – is a great place to explore before proceeding to Khatwa.
Khatwa, set in a verdant oasis, has the relaxed atmosphere of a bygone era, with the added advantage of friendly people. Travelling along this route is like taking a step back in time and it provides an ideal opportunity to observe the different dress and customs of a neighbouring country.
