Hatta Pools, with their colourful rock faces and cascading waterfalls, are a picturesque destination with swimming opportunities in natural pools a welcome bonus.
This is an easily arranged trip that can be undertaken in half a day. The drive from Dubai to Hatta takes about an hour and is as fascinating as the destination itself, with the superb highway cutting through rolling dunes and mountain landscapes.
The Hatta Fort Hotel is a popular mountain-resort complex and a drive to Hatta Pools could be followed by lunch at the hotel and a leisurely afternoon at its swimming pool – or you could even overnight there.
