Shelter

Shelter Mountain dwellers usually have separate summer and winter living quarters, which vary in their layout and building materials. Summer quarters are located at a higher elevation to catch any prevailing winds. The dwellings are more spread out and the rooms are more open to allow air inside. In contrast, winter houses are placed closer to each other and are built with denser, more solid material.

A visitor may make the mistake of thinking that a village lies abandoned whereas it’s really been left only for a few months: locked or unlocked, the integrity of these homes should always be respected. There have been rare cases of campers attempting to break into houses and even taking away some of the villagers’ belongings, incorrectly thinking they’re no longer used or wanted. Property should always be left as it’s found in these villages.
